BACH at the Grand Orgue of Notre-Dame de Paris.
This recording allows us to rediscover some of the masterpieces by the Cantor of Leipzig, in various styles: fantasies, preludes, passacaille, fugues, chorales. In all these domains, Johann Sebastian Bach brought the art of composition to perfection.
It was the composer's profound faith that inspired him. In fact, he always preceded his signature on his manuscripts with the initials "S.D.G.," which stand for "Soli Deo Gloria" (To God alone be the glory).
Philippe Lefebvre delivers his own interpretation of these monumental works, alternately grandiose or contemplative, on the organ of Notre-Dame (before its restoration).
