The rosary is a prayer object resembling a bead necklace, consisting of five sets of ten beads, called decades. Each set is followed by a separate bead.

A cross and five beads are located before the centerpiece, which bears the image of the Holy Virgin, a saint, or a Christian symbol.

These beads are used for reciting the "Hail Mary."

The recitation begins with the sign of the cross, followed by the "Apostles' Creed," an "Our Father," three "Hail Marys," and a "Glory Be."
