After studying graphic arts and interior architecture at Penningen School, Marie-Noëlle Robert dedicated herself to photography of performances and became the official photographer of the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris since 1987.
She has also collaborated with the Maison des Cultures du Monde, covering their Festival de l’Imaginaire for over 10 years, which brings together traditional musicians from around the world.
Inspired by her journeys to Andalusia, she embarked on a series of photo reports on architecture and geometry in Islamic arts, taking her to Syria and Uzbekistan.
Drawing inspiration from these architectural and ornamental treasures, she has been developing the technique of paper cutting for the past decade.
