After studying graphic arts and interior architecture at the Penningen School, Marie-Noëlle Robert dedicated herself to performing arts photography and became the official photographer of the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris from 1987.
She also collaborated with the Maison des Cultures du Monde, where she covered the Festival de l'Imaginaire for over 10 years, featuring traditional musicians from around the world.
During a trip to Andalusia, she embarked on a series of photo reportages on architecture and geometry in Islamic arts, which led her to Syria and Uzbekistan.
Inspired by these architectural and ornamental treasures, she has been developing the art of "papier ciselé" (cut paper) for the past decade.
