About the artist

After studying graphic arts and interior architecture at the Penningen school, Marie-Noëlle Robert devoted herself to photography of performances and became the official photographer of the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris since 1987.

She has also collaborated with the Maison des Cultures du Monde, for whom she covered the Festival de l’Imaginaire for over 10 years, which brings together traditional musicians from around the world.

Inspired by her travels to Andalusia, she began a series of photo reports on architecture and geometry in the arts of Islam, which took her to Syria and Uzbekistan.

Drawing inspiration from these architectural and ornamental treasures, she has been developing the technique of cut paper for the past ten years.
