The Facade of Notre-Dame

Created following ethical values related to fair trade, this decoration is entirely hand-embroidered using the traditional Indian embroidery technique called 'zardosi'.

It was specially designed for the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral.

The workshop specializing in creating these decorations has focused on making hanging decorations. All these decorations are handmade, and the time required to craft each one reflects their unique quality.

For over 30 years, the workshop has been partnering with a small charitable organization located in Thailand, which helps women find profitable work within their rural community instead of leaving their families to work in the cities.

Today, nearly 200 women work from home to assemble and sew these decorations. The workshop takes pride in being a member of BAFTS (British Association of Fair Trade Suppliers) and supports the 10 principles of fair trade, as indicated by the World Fair Trade Organization.
