The Monastery was founded in 1934 near Paris.

Today, the lives of the 25 sisters in the monastery revolve around work and prayers. "At certain times, the sisters engage in manual labor, and at other fixed hours, they dedicate themselves to the reading of things of God," including the artisanal crafting of rosaries and ten-bead rings. They live the monastic life according to the Rule of Saint Benedict.

The Benedictines of Sainte Bathilde are open to the world, sensitive to ecumenism, and support the creation of monasteries in mission countries (France, Benin, Vietnam, Madagascar).
