Notre-Dame Reopening Ornament

Fully hand-embroidered using a very ancient artisanal technique following ethical values linked to fair trade, this decoration is handmade and customized for the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

On the obverse, a representation of the cross located on the spire of Notre Dame, and on the reverse, the facade of Notre Dame.

A decoration made with deep blue velvet on one side and deep red velvet on the other, richly adorned with shiny golden trims, highlighted with delicate beads.

Embroidered on the blue side, in English: "Reopening Notre-Dame Paris" with a golden cross, and on the red side, in French: "Réouverture Notre-Dame Paris" with the cathedral's façade.

Created following ethical values linked to fair trade, this decoration is handmade using the traditional Indian embroidery method of 'zardosi'. It has been specially designed for Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

The workshop that crafts these small ornaments specializes in creating hanging decorations. All these decorations are handcrafted, and the time required to make each one reflects their unique quality.

For over 30 years, the workshop has partnered with a small charitable organization in Thailand that helps women find lucrative employment within their rural community, allowing them to stay with their families instead of moving to the city for work.

Today, nearly 200 women work from home to assemble and sew these decorations. The workshop is proud to be a member of the BAFTS (British Association of Fair Trade Suppliers) and supports the 10 principles of fair trade, as outlined by the World Fair Trade Organization.
